Strong Walled Pultruded Carbon Tube
The primary advantage of using carbon fiber for framing material is its high stiffness to weight ratio. They are ideal for ridged frame construction. The inner diameter (ID), or wall thickness, can fluctuate .008" plus or minus from the sizes indicated.
Cutting Carbon
To cut carbon fiber, use a Dremel motor with an abrasive cutting wheel for the cleanest cut possible. You can also use a fine tooth hacksaw. Be sure the carbon rod is held securely in place. Be careful not to crush it as you saw. Tape around area to be cut to prevent splintering or separation of the fibers. Wear eye protection and a dust mask.
Buy Graphite Rods
We carry both uncut light and strong wall graphite rods and pre-cut graphite rods for the Kossel Mini and Kossel Legacy.
